The movie Unbroken. It followed Mark McMorris’ journey from the ICU to the Olympic podium. Seeing what his therapists were able to do for him inspires my practice—helping people get back to what they love doing, no matter the challenge.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you’re avoiding. Do the work.
Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find me searching for my golf ball in the rough, throwing weights around the gym, or enjoying a well-earned pint with friends at a local craft brewery.
Nick is a dedicated physiotherapist whose academic excellence, elite sport experience, and advanced clinical training position him as one of the most well-rounded emerging practitioners in musculoskeletal and sport physiotherapy. He completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology with High Honours at the University of Toronto before earning his Master of Physical Therapy at Western University. He then went on to complete a Sport Physiotherapy Fellowship at Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic — one of Canada’s most prestigious sport medicine institutions — where he received advanced training in the assessment and treatment of complex musculoskeletal and sport-related injuries.
Nick holds a Master of Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has earned his FCAMPT designation — held by fewer than 5% of physiotherapists in Canada and representing the gold standard in advanced manual therapy and clinical reasoning. He has also completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program through McMaster University, adding another evidence-based tool to his clinical practice.
Nick’s clinical experience includes a wide range of musculoskeletal and sport-related conditions, including:
Nick’s treatment philosophy is straightforward: he treats every patient the way he would want his own family members to be treated. That means taking the time to listen carefully, thoroughly assess the root cause of the problem, and develop a treatment plan that leaves no stone unturned.
His approach combines advanced hands-on manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription, and practical patient education. Early in rehabilitation, Nick uses his advanced manual therapy training to reduce pain and restore movement efficiently. As recovery progresses, the focus shifts to empowering patients with targeted exercises and self-management strategies that maintain progress and prevent future injury.
Nick’s ultimate goal extends beyond pain relief — he emphasizes longevity, helping patients not only recover but continue doing what they love at a high level for years to come.
Nick brings a rare depth of real-world sport physiotherapy experience. He currently serves as physiotherapist for the Stratford Warriors Jr. B Hockey Club and provides physiotherapy support for Team Canada’s Senior Men’s Tackle Football Team during international competition. During his fellowship training, he worked with multiple Western Mustangs varsity programs, including football, basketball, and volleyball, serving as one of the primary physiotherapists responsible for injury management and return-to-play care.
Having worked with athletes from elite competitors to recreational players, Nick firmly believes that everyone has an athlete within them — regardless of their goals or level of activity.
Nick’s path to physiotherapy was shaped by both personal experience and a lifelong love of sport. Growing up, he watched his mother struggle with chronic back pain, spending countless hours with her at physiotherapy appointments. Witnessing the impact that skilled, compassionate care had on her quality of life left a lasting impression — and inspired him to build a career doing the same for others.
As a former athlete himself, Nick understands firsthand how injuries affect not just physical performance, but a person’s sense of identity. Being sidelined from the activities you love is incredibly difficult, and he is passionate about helping patients bridge that gap as smoothly and confidently as possible.
Outside the clinic, you’ll find Nick in the gym pursuing his very self-described mediocre Olympic weightlifting career, somewhere in the woods searching for his golf ball, or out enjoying great food, great drinks, and great company with family and friends.
Nick is an excellent choice if you are an athlete — at any level — recovering from a sport injury or post-surgical rehabilitation, or if you are dealing with spinal pain, chronic musculoskeletal issues, or simply want to move better and stay active long-term. His combination of elite sport experience, advanced manual therapy training, and genuine commitment to individualized care makes him exceptionally well-equipped to help patients of all ages and activity levels reach their goals.
